Evidence Over Opinion: ChatNetZero 2.0 and the Push for Verifiable Climate Intelligence
Overview
At a time when net-zero commitments are abundant but clarity is scarce, credibility matters more than ever.
Greenwashing, policy ambiguity, and inconsistent disclosure formats have created a trust deficit in global decarbonization efforts. Arboretica’s enhanced platform, ChatNetZero 2.0 [https://chatnetzero.ai/] is designed to cut through that noise offering a domain-specific, evidence-based AI interface to interrogate and understand climate commitments worldwide.
Why the Upgrade?
Version 2.0 was developed to meet an increasingly specific user need: verifiable, queryable insights into who is committing to what and how realistic those pathways really are. Where ChatNetZero 1.0 focused on access, 2.0 focused on integrity.
What’s New in ChatNetZero 2.0?

1. Fine-Tuned Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
We’ve restructured the model’s backend to better separate factual references from narrative response. The fine-tuned LLM – selected from 10 custom-trained GPT models based on validation from climate researchers – is now grounded in a dynamic, expanding dataset, allowing users to:
Identify mismatches between stated targets and claims
Access direct excerpts from official climate plans, rather than relying on summaries
Surface discrepancies across public vs private commitments (e.g., between press releases and policy filings)
Generate objective, non-biased answers to research questions
2. A Brand NewData Catalogue
We created a home page that enables users to browse and analyze the climate commitments of each company and subnational actor tracked by the Net Zero Tracker, directly from their official disclosures.
Subnational policy data: City- and region-level climate strategies across North America, Europe, and selected parts of Asia.
Corporate net-zero plans: Includes over 5,000 companies’ targets (where available), with metadata for scope, timeline, and implementation details.
Not Just Chat — Intelligent Interrogation
Unlike generic AI tools that prioritize fluency over fact, ChatNetZero 2.0 explicitly favors traceability and transparency. Every answer includes:
Direct links to primary documentation
Context-aware clarifications where data is missing, vague, or in contradiction
This is particularly critical in a year like 2025, when CSRD updates, Omnibus adjustments, and evolving TNFD disclosures require real-time, reliable intelligence, — not just commentary.
Use Cases in the Field
For Policy Analysts: Run comparative diagnostics across jurisdictions’ decarbonization plans.
For Investors: Spot early risks in net-zero portfolios through data-backed compliance gaps.
For NGOs: Monitor implementation vs. ambition — backed by sources, not assumptions.

What’s next?
The next update, ChatNetZero ver. 2.2, will introduce a groundbreaking Anti-Greenwashing detection feature which uses peer-reviewed metrics to validate the greenwashing risk of corporations. The feature, which will be developed using AI workflows combined with recent climate research, will produce a confidence score for each company and assess how risky their claims on net-zero targets might (intentionally or unintentionally) lead to potential greenwashing.
🌐 Arboretica’s Commitment to Data Integrity
At Arboretica, we don’t believe in treating AI like a black box.
Every tool we build including GreenSearch AI and ChatNetZero is grounded in a belief that transparency isn’t optional. It’s fundamental.
ChatNetZero 2.0 is one step closer to closing the evidence gap in climate accountability and one more reason to replace opinion with verifiable insight.
